Strategy that works where care actually happens

Optimize workflows across clinical and operational teams to eliminate gaps and deliver better patient care.

The gaps in healthcare strategy are much harder to identify and solve than the problems in corporate strategy. This is because healthcare workers largely operate outside the strategy and vital workflows. Rather than the plan you did work on, the team will annotate alerts and duplicate tasks. Friction and misalignment regularly become obstacle course "features" for operational and clinical teams.

To overcome these challenges, our team integrates the needs of clinical and operational teams in the design of the product and subsequently improves the workflows of the care environment. At this point, the strategy becomes a "habit" and we are able to measure the outcome of our healthcare operational AI consulting.

30%of EHR alerts are ignored due to workflow misalignment
50%of cost overruns stem from operational inefficiencies
29%decrease in care variability after workflow realignment

How we work

Our process begins from the point of work rather than the point of the org chart.

  1. Understand the true workflow. To understand the flow of care and operations as they exist today, we conduct observations of the system. This includes staff-created workarounds. We find the gaps where strategic plans stop translating.
  2. Participatory design using the front line. We work with clinicians and operational staff to help design processes that they will use. This is actually the greatest factor in shifting thinking and behavior around the process as roughly 100% of staff that build a workflow will work within, sustain and improve that workflow.
  3. Test in one area. We implement the redesigned process in a small area and measure what matters before making the decision to expand.
  4. Create consistency and expand. We provide the documentation, training, and loops for ongoing feedback to prevent process drift for larger distribution after the initial testing has proven the redesigned work process and design.

Frequently asked questions

Who is this for?

Health systems and hospitals where approved and documented strategy doesn't reach the front line due to disconnected workflows or isolated operations.

What's the difference between this and a normal consulting engagement?

We don't deliver a PowerPoint. We embed in your clinical and operational realities and leave workflows in place your teams have already embraced.

What is the time frame for seeing results?

We typically see change in weeks and not in quarters with a single-unit pilot because we focus on normalizing a single workflow vs. the mass workflow reengineering the consulting industry is known for.
